Hola! We are Brett and Ellie, a married couple from the UK who swapped the English coast for the breathtaking landscapes of Northern Spain.

Our story started back in 2012 on the ski slopes of Canada, where we met training as ski instructors. From there, we spent years running a busy beachside cafe on the south coast of England, honing our passion for top-tier hospitality.

After years of hard work (and a few episodes of new life in the sun!) we finally decided "why not?" and packed up everything we owned into a van, along with the dog, to chase our dream and move to Asturias.

We came out here in January 2022 for the very first time and by April the same year, we'd found and bought a house!  

I say house - truthfully it was a building site - 4 walls, a roof and nothing more, but it was ours! Over the next three years, we poured our hearts, souls, and building skills into renovating it from scratch. We chose this specific spot because it offers the absolute best of both worlds, tucked beautifully right between the dramatic Asturian mountains and the stunning coastline. Today, it is a labor of love that we cannot wait to share with you.

Oh, and the name? Casa del Ganso (Goose’s House) is named after our dog, Goose, who is the true captain of the ship! We can't wait to help you experience the unique magic of Asturias.
